There are currently two tented chalets – ‘Kasas’ in the bush. Both are on decks overlooking the stunning Kafue River and spaced far enough apart for complete privacy. The chalets are hand-built with a gum pole structure covered in canvas. All the furniture and fittings have been hand-crafted using local wood. The beds are heavenly; all have Egyptian cotton sheets with a choice of pillows. Both chalets have solar lighting with a USB point, hanging space and shelves.
‘Kasa’ 1 – A delightful decked walkway with steps leads to a latched wood door. An impressive king-size bed has pride of place facing the river. The rainfall shower is outside with a lovely view of the river. The flushing toilet is inside and a separate ‘vanity’ area has a granite basin and mirror. The windows are gauzed with canvas dropdowns and the balcony is accessed through a full-length gauzed zipped door (with canvas dropdown) so guests can enjoy an unobstructed river view from the bed.
‘Kasa’ 2 – Has a short decked walkway and is on three levels. There is a latched wood entrance door and a stable-door provides access to the balcony. The two singles or king-size bed look out to the river, the middle deck has space for extra beds. An outside rainfall shower faces the river, a flushing toilet is inside along with a granite basin and mirror. There is a full-length gauzed and zipped door (with canvas dropdown) leading out to the balcony allowing guest to enjoy the view. All windows are gauzed with canvas dropdowns.
